The Barley Mow is operated by LAPEN INNS- THE BARLEY MOW LTD (company number 16097075), part of Lapen Inns. Lapen Inns leases the pub from Wells & Co.

What this website collects
You can browse this website without creating an account or giving us your contact details. There are no contact forms or newsletter sign-ups, and we do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Our hosting provider may keep technical records when you visit, including your IP address, browser type and the pages you open.
Optional content and your choice

Nothing optional loads until you choose. Choosing needs JavaScript.
On this website, optional content means an interactive Google map and the live Food Standards Agency hygiene badge. The Google map appears on our Find us page and loads from Google Maps only if you allow optional content. When it loads, Google may receive your IP address and browser information, and Google’s own privacy notice applies. The badge loads from the FSA’s website only if you allow optional content. When it loads, the FSA may receive your IP address and browser information.
Booking, phone, menus, opening hours, directions links and the link to our official food hygiene record always work, whatever you choose.
We remember your choice in this browser for 180 days, so we don’t ask on every page. You can change it at any time from Privacy choices at the bottom of every page. Turning optional content off removes it from the page and stops it loading again. It doesn’t delete information a provider has already received; the provider’s own privacy notice covers that.
Bookings
You book your table on Nabatable’s website. When you choose Book a table (opens in a new tab) anywhere on this website, Nabatable’s booking page opens in a new tab. Read the privacy information provided there before entering personal information. This website does not collect your booking details.
Contacting us
When you call or email us, we use the information you share to reply and help with your enquiry. Please share only what is needed for your question and avoid sending payment details or identity documents by email. This website has no marketing sign-up.
Links to other services
Links for bookings, directions and social updates take you to other websites. Each has its own privacy notice:
- Nabatable (opens in a new tab), for bookings.
- Google Maps, for directions to the pub.
- Instagram, where the pub posts updates.
Food Standards Agency rating
Our footer links to our full food hygiene rating record on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website; the FSA’s own privacy notice applies there. If you allow optional content, the footer also shows the FSA’s live rating badge, loaded from the FSA website. We do not send the FSA the address of the page you are reading, and the badge runs in an isolated frame that cannot set cookies or read anything on this website.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to limit how we use it, to object to our using it, and in some cases to receive it in a form you can pass to another organisation. These rights depend on the circumstances and the legal basis for the processing.

Data protection law requires us to acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, make appropriate enquiries, keep you informed and tell you the outcome without undue delay.

Cookies
Our own site code does not set cookies. It saves one item in your browser’s storage to remember your optional content choice, and only after you make one. If you close a pub notice, it also saves a strictly necessary item in session storage (the-barley-mow:site-banner:tihar-closure-2026:closed-this-session) so the notice stays closed for the rest of your visit; your browser deletes it when you close the tab.
